We need all surgical instructions from oral surgeons, periodontists, or other dental professionals that show size, location, and manufacture of implants. obtain your impression posts. Give your name, phone number, and the patient’s name and appointment date. Also, provide the lab with the preoperative model.
Please allow 5 working days for us to deliver implant impression posts. When you receive your impression posts, sterilize them immediately.
Appointment 1: Take impression
An impression can be handled in either of two ways: closed tray or open tray.
Closed tray procedure:
1. Remove healing cap from patient’s mouth and store in easy reach.
2. Place impression post; screw in hand tight.
3. Take an X-ray to check that impression post is fully seated. If not, reseat it.
4. Take a full-arch impression using heavy-body crown & bridge impression material.
5. Check that no air bubbles exist in area surrounding impression post.
6. When impression material has set, remove tray. The impression post will stay in the mouth.
7. Unscrew impression post and replace healing cap immediately in patient’s mouth.
8. DO NOT place impression post in impression material. (That will be taken care of the lab.)
9. Send X-ray, screw, and all parts to lab.
Open tray procedure:
1. Remove healing cap from patient’s mouth and store in easy reach.
2. Place impression post, and screw in hand tight.
3. Take an X-ray to check that impression post is fully seated. If not, reseat impression post.
4. Using an empty plastic tray, place a hole over implant.
5. Take a conventional impression.
6. Wipe off excess material to reveal screw head.
7. When impression material has set, unscrew impression post.
8. Remove screw.
9. Remove impression. The impression post will remain in the impression.
10. Replace healing cap immediately.
11. Send X-ray, screw, and all parts to lab.
12. You will need to send the impression and transfer coping to the lab so that one of the master stone, soft tissue cast, and occlusal record base can be fabricated. Allow 4 days for the lab.
Appointment 2: Centric jaw relationship
1. Secure occlusal record base with process (if available or requested), and record vertical and centric jaw relationship. Countour rim and relate any conventional landmarks, then record mold and shade selection.
2. Send centric jaw relationship to lab. Allow 4 days for lab to create wax setup for try-in.
Appointment 3: Wax set up for try-in
1. Evaluate we setup for proper esthetic display and for vertical and centric relationship.
2. Return wax setup to lab for fabrication of Locator. Allow 10 work days in lab.
Appointment 4: Denture Try-In
1. Remove healing caps from one implant in patient's mouth.
2. Exchange healing caps for Locator abutment in corresponding location on model. (Use gold tip of Locator tool to remove Locators from model.)3. Hand tighten only.
4. Repeat steps 1 to 3 for each implant.
5. Snap denture into place. Look for a passive fit. If fit is satisfactory, torque all abutments with a 0.05 hex drive to Locator specifications.

6. If fit IS NOT satisfactory, remove metal housing from denture. Place metal housing with clips and black insert onto the Locator in patient's mouth. Check that denture does not rock on metal housing (housing should not touch denture).
7. Drill small chimney towards occlusion. Cut a nickel-sized piece from a rubber dam and punch a small hole in the center. Remove cap from Locator in patient's mouth. Pull rubber dam over Locator in patient's mouth, and snap the cap back on.
8. Use temporary bridge material to fill space beneath denture. Set denture under the occlusion back into place. Excess material should ooze from chimney. Allow to set, then remove denture.
9. Exchange black clip for pink clip.
10. Repeat steps 6 to 9 for each individual implant.
Additional recommendations:
1. For two implants, use pink clips first, and upgrade to clear clips if needed.
2. For three or more implants, only activate two with pink clips. Keep black clips in place for the first few weeks. Otherwise, use black clips for stability only
